PLAINFIELD—State Senator Jennifer Bertino-Tarrant (D-Shorewood) announced the winners of the 8th Grade Citizenship Award. The winners were selected based on their dedication to community service, leadership abilities and overall good civic responsibility.
“These students are excellent role-models,” Bertino-Tarrant said. “It is an honor to recognize them for admirably giving their time to make our community and state a better place. I am certain they will continue to positively impact others.”
The 2015 8th Grade Citizenship Award winners are Monica Angel of Richland Junior High, Anthony Gribble of Ira Jones Middle School and Caleb Klima of Troy Middle School.
The students chosen were nominated by personnel at their schools who were familiar with their contributions. Schools in the 49th district were invited to participate.
This is a new award that Bertino-Tarrant is giving out for the first time this year.
