Silver Beat Presentation sSHOREWOOD—State Senator Jennifer Bertino-Tarrant (D-Shorewood) will be holding a Silver Beat presentation and legislative town hall on Thursday, Oct. 22.

“I’m committed to having an open dialogue with community members and providing information on how they can keep themselves safe,” Bertino-Tarrant said. 

Seniors and others attending the Silver Beat presentation will learn how to protect themselves from financial scams and health care fraud. It will take place from 1 to 2 p.m. at the Plainfield Township Community Center, 15014 S. Des Plaines Street. 

Silver Beat is an educational training program created by Illinois Attorney General Lisa Madigan to ensure that seniors have the knowledge and tools they need to better protect themselves from con artists and deceptive business practices.

Bertino-Tarrant’s second event on Oct. 22, a legislative town hall, will be held from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. in the Romeoville Police Department Community Room, 1050 W. Romeo Road.10 22 15 s

Residents are encouraged to attend so that the senator can meet them and listen to their thoughts and concerns regarding state government and local issues.
