jbt townhall21BOLINGBROOK— State Senators Jennifer Bertino-Tarrant (D-Shorewood) and Pat McGuire (D-Joliet) and Representatives Natalie Manley (D-Joliet) and Emily McAsey (D-Romeoville) will be holding a town hall meeting to discuss legislative issues on Monday, June 29. The meeting will be held at the Fountaindale Library (300 W. Briarcliff Rd., Bolingbrook) from 6:00-7:00 p.m.

“I appreciate the open discussions with community members about topics that are important to them,” Sen. Bertino-Tarrant said.

With the regular legislative session over, the town hall gives legislators an opportunity to answer questions from community members on legislation, the budget and any other concerns that they have.

“Communication between voters and officeholders is essential. I look forward to this exchange of news, views and ideas,” Sen. McGuire said.

The town hall meeting is open to the public. Anyone with questions or concerns can join Senators Bertino-Tarrant and McGuire and Representatives Manley and McAsey for a candid conversation about state and local government issues.

"The best ideas for reforming Springfield come from the common-sense wisdom of Illinois taxpayers," Rep. McAsey said. "As our state grapples with a severe fiscal crisis, it is especially important that lawmakers listen to the ideas of residents so that we accurately represent their beliefs and help Illinois move forward.”
