WebResizeJBT5.23.17SPRINGFIELD – On Tuesday, the Illinois Senate advanced a full-year balanced budget. State Senator Jennifer Bertino-Tarrant (D-Shorewood) issued the following statement in regards to the votes taken:

“Illinois has been crumbling around us for two years. Today, we took steps to put Illinois back on a path to financial stability. The measure we passed today cut over $3 billion in government spending. It provides funding for social services, MAP grants for college students and ensures K-12 schools open on time. Furthermore, it allows for the much needed certainty our local businesses need.”
